World Champions Twice Flag 3ft x 2ft (90 x 60cm)

SKU: 1185
£10.00

This World Champions Twice flag makes a bold and competitive claim, highlighting Manchester United's global success in comparison to the England national team.

The phrase "Once more than England, World Champions twice" refers to United's two world titles: the 1999 Intercontinental Cup and the 2008 FIFA Club World Cup.

Since the England national team has famously won the World Cup only once, in 1966, this banner serves as a tongue-in-cheek way for fans to assert their club's superior international standing.

Set on the traditional red, white, and black tricolour with the iconic Red Devil crest, the flag reflects the "club over country" sentiment held by a section of the United faithful.

It is a common sight among the "Red Army" at both home and away matches, used to spark friendly (and sometimes not-so-friendly) banter with rival supporters and England fans alike.

Ultimately, it celebrates United's history as a truly global powerhouse that has conquered the world on more than one occasion.

Poles are not included.
