The phrase "There is a light that never goes out" is the title of one of the most famous songs by The Smiths, a band central to Manchester's cultural identity.
However, the most significant detail is the clock face at the centre, which is permanently frozen at 3:04.
This specific time marks the exact moment the plane carrying the "Busby Babes" crashed during takeoff in Munich on 6 February 1958.
The flag serves as a promise that the memory of the 23 people who lost their lives—including eight legendary players—will be cherished forever by the fans.
It is a powerful symbol of remembrance and resilience, displayed to show that even in the club's darkest moment, the "light" of their legacy continues to shine.

From 1 July 2026, the €150 exemption will be removed. Instead, a €3 duty per line item will be charged for goods up to €150.
