Champions of Europe 1968 Badge

SKU: 425
£4.00

This commemorative pin badge celebrates Manchester United’s historic triumph as Champions of Europe in 1968, a night that remains the emotional pinnacle of the club's long history.

The victory was secured at Wembley Stadium on 29 May 1968, where United defeated the Portuguese side Benfica 4–1 after extra time.

This achievement made Manchester United the first English club to ever lift the European Cup, a milestone that cemented their status as a true powerhouse of world football.

The victory held immense personal significance for manager Sir Matt Busby, coming exactly ten years after the tragic Munich air disaster that had devastated his legendary "Busby Babes" squad.

Two survivors of that crash, Sir Bobby Charlton and Bill Foulkes, were part of the winning team, with Charlton famously scoring two of the goals in the final.
