Alex Stepney & Paddy Crerand Signed 1968 European Cup Final Shirt is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
This royal blue retro football shirt commemorates Manchester United's historic 1968 European Cup Final victory at Wembley Stadium and is hand-signed by club legends Alex Stepney and Paddy Crerand.
On 29 May 1968, Manchester United defeated Benfica 4-1 after extra time to become the first ever English club to lift the prestigious European Cup, a deeply emotional triumph coming exactly ten years after the devastating Munich Air Disaster.
Goalkeeper Alex Stepney was a foundational figure for the Red Devils during this golden era, arriving at Old Trafford in 1966 for a world-record fee for a goalkeeper and quickly establishing himself as Sir Matt Busby's trusted number one.
In the dying moments of normal time during the 1968 final, with the score locked at 1-1, Stepney made a legendary, breathtaking close-range save against Benfica's superstar striker Eusébio, a heroic intervention that kept United's European dream alive and forced extra time.
Stepney would go on to spend twelve highly successful years with the club, making 535 appearances and cementing his place as the most-capped goalkeeper in Manchester United history.
Alongside him in the starting lineup that famous night was Scottish midfielder Paddy Crerand, who had been brought to the club from Celtic in 1963 to provide vital grit, stability, and exceptional distribution during the post-Munich rebuilding process.
Renowned as the ultimate "pass master," Crerand formed a formidable, tough-tackling midfield partnership with Nobby Stiles, serving as the crucial protective anchor that allowed attacking flair players like George Best and Bobby Charlton to flourish.
Crerand accumulated 401 appearances and scored 15 goals for the Red Devils, winning two First Division league titles, an FA Cup, and the crowning glory of the 1968 European Cup before moving into coaching as assistant manager at Old Trafford.
This spectacular piece of football memorabilia features clear, distinct autographs from both icons alongside an embroidered 1968 Wembley European Cup Final crest, making it a highly desirable addition for any passionate Manchester United collector or sports history enthusiast.
This item is accompanied by a dedicated certificate of authenticity, providing a complete guarantee that the autograph is entirely authentic.
