On 29 May 1968, Manchester United defeated Benfica 4-1 after extra time to become the first ever English club to lift the prestigious European Cup, a deeply emotional triumph coming exactly ten years after the devastating Munich Air Disaster.
Left-winger John Aston Jr. delivered the performance of his life that night, torturing the Benfica defence to be named the official Man of the Match.
A product of United's youth academy, Aston made 187 appearances and scored 27 goals for the club, helping them lift the 1967 First Division title before his crowning achievement at Wembley at just 20 years of age.
Alongside him in attack was versatile forward-turned-defender David Sadler, another vital academy graduate who seamlessly transitioned roles under Sir Matt Busby.
Sadler spent over a decade at Old Trafford, accumulating 335 appearances and 27 goals while providing the essential tactical flexibility that bound the star-studded squad together.

Stepney spent twelve successful years with the club, making 535 appearances and cementing his place as the most-capped goalkeeper in Manchester United history.
