Aston, Crerand, Sadler & Stepney 4X Signed 1968 European Cup Final Shirt

SKU: 410
£500.00

This premium royal blue TOFFS retro football shirt commemorates Manchester United's historic 1968 European Cup Final victory at Wembley Stadium and is hand-signed by four club legends: John Aston, Paddy Crerand, David Sadler, and Alex Stepney.

On 29 May 1968, Manchester United defeated Benfica 4-1 after extra time to become the first ever English club to lift the prestigious European Cup, a deeply emotional triumph coming exactly ten years after the devastating Munich Air Disaster.

Left-winger John Aston Jr. delivered the performance of his life that night, torturing the Benfica defence to be named the official Man of the Match.

A product of United's youth academy, Aston made 187 appearances and scored 27 goals for the club, helping them lift the 1967 First Division title before his crowning achievement at Wembley at just 20 years of age.

Alongside him in attack was versatile forward-turned-defender David Sadler, another vital academy graduate who seamlessly transitioned roles under Sir Matt Busby.

Sadler spent over a decade at Old Trafford, accumulating 335 appearances and 27 goals while providing the essential tactical flexibility that bound the star-studded squad together.

Controlling the tempo from midfield was Scottish international Paddy Crerand, who had been brought to the club from Celtic in 1963 to provide vital grit, stability, and exceptional distribution.

Renowned as the ultimate "pass master," Crerand formed a formidable midfield partnership with Nobby Stiles, serving as the crucial protective anchor that allowed attacking flair players to flourish across his 401 club appearances.

Guarding the net was goalkeeper Alex Stepney, a foundational figure who arrived at Old Trafford in 1966 for a world-record fee and quickly established himself as Sir Matt Busby's trusted number one.

In the dying moments of normal time during the 1968 final, with the score locked at 1-1, Stepney made a legendary, breathtaking close-range save against Benfica's superstar striker Eusébio, forcing the extra time that allowed United to run away with the trophy.

Stepney spent twelve successful years with the club, making 535 appearances and cementing his place as the most-capped goalkeeper in Manchester United history.

This spectacular piece of football memorabilia features clear, distinct autographs from all four icons alongside an embroidered 1968 Wembley European Cup Final crest, making it a highly desirable addition for any passionate Manchester United collector or sports history enthusiast.

This item is accompanied by a dedicated certificate of authenticity, providing a complete guarantee that the autograph is entirely authentic.

The shirt can be framed if such an option is available on the website.
