Martin Buchan was a highly esteemed Scottish centre-back who played for Manchester United from 1972 to 1983.
He made 456 appearances for the club and became the first player to captain both a Scottish Cup-winning side (with Aberdeen) and an FA Cup-winning side after leading United to victory in 1977.
Known for his exceptional pace, calmness under pressure, and tactical intelligence, he was appointed club captain in 1975 and remained a fixture in the heart of the defence for over a decade.
Buchan also earned 34 caps for Scotland and represented his country at both the 1974 and 1978 FIFA World Cup finals.
