Alex Stepney is a legendary English goalkeeper who made 539 appearances for Manchester United between 1966 and 1978.
He was a pivotal figure in the club's 1968 European Cup victory, famously making a crucial late save against Benfica's Eusébio that earned him a standing ovation from the striker himself.
Remarkably, Stepney remains the club's highest-scoring goalkeeper of all time, having netted two penalties during the 1973–74 season.
Over his 12-year career at Old Trafford, he also won the First Division title in 1967 and the FA Cup in 1977.
