This is an official souvenir matchday programme print from the 1985 FA Cup Final between Everton and Manchester United, held at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 18th May 1985.
This framed display piece is a highly sought-after item for collectors, especially as it is signed by Manchester United's Danish winger, Jesper Olsen, who made 176 appearances and scored 24 goals during his time at the club.
The programme cover features a distinct, vibrant artistic design capturing the motion of a footballer, with the classic Wembley Stadium logo situated between the club names at the bottom.
This fixture remains one of the most legendary and heroic afternoons in the club's history.
Going into the match, Everton were the heavily favoured reigning league champions and were chasing a historic treble.
The match itself was a tense, bruising affair that is famously remembered for the dismissal of Manchester United defender Kevin Moran, who became the first player ever to be sent off in an FA Cup Final.
Reduced to ten men and facing an intense Everton onslaught, Ron Atkinson's side showed immense resilience, defensive grit, and tactical discipline to push the game into extra time.
The deadlock was finally broken in spectacular fashion during the 110th minute of extra time.
A brilliant counter-attack saw Norman Whiteside receive a pass from Mark Hughes on the right wing, cut inside Everton defender Pat Van Den Hauwe, and unleash a spectacular, curling left-footed strike past goalkeeper Neville Southall into the far corner of the net.
This iconic goal sealed a memorable 1-0 victory for Manchester United, defying the odds to lift their sixth FA Cup trophy and completely ruining Everton's treble ambitions under the twin towers.
