This 1977 FA Cup Final programme, personally signed by goalkeeper Alex Stepney, offers a unique glimpse into one of football's most memorable matches.
The cover marked Queen Elizabeth II's Silver Jubilee Year and features the iconic FA Cup trophy surrounded by a colourful geometric fan pattern in red, blue, and grey.
Bob Paisley's dominant Liverpool side arrived at Wembley as First Division champions and were on the verge of completing an unprecedented continental treble, with the European Cup final in Rome scheduled just four days later.
Tommy Docherty's Manchester United, determined to make amends for losing the previous year's final to second-tier Southampton, acted as the ultimate spoiler.
After a tense, goalless first half, the match erupted with three goals in an explosive five-minute window early in the second half.
Stuart Pearson opened the scoring for Manchester United in the 51st minute, beating Ray Clemence at the near post, but Liverpool hit back almost immediately when Jimmy Case turned and smashed a brilliant half-volley into the top corner.
Just three minutes later, United grabbed the winner when a shot from Lou Macari deflected off the chest of teammate Jimmy Greenhoff and looped over the helpless Liverpool goalkeeper.
United held firm to win 2–1, claiming their fourth FA Cup trophy and famously preserving their status as the only English club to achieve that specific treble until they finally matched it themselves in 1999.
