Gordon Hill Hand Signed 1978 White Away Shirt

SKU: 1010
£195.00

This retro Manchester United white away shirt is hand-signed by the mercurial left-winger Gordon Hill.

This historic replica piece pays tribute to the club's 1978 centenary celebrations, faithfully recreating one of the most beloved away designs in United history.

The striking white jersey is instantly recognisable by its bold triple black vertical stripes down the left side, an oversized white wing collar, and the unique commemorative circular club crest emblazoned with the dates 1878-1978 to honour one hundred years since the foundation of Newton Heath LYR.

Nicknamed "Merlin" by the passionate supporters on the Stretford End, Gordon Hill was pure magic on the pitch, renowned for his dazzling dribbling ability, blistering pace, and a spectacular left foot that regularly conjured goals out of nothing.

Arriving at Old Trafford in November 1975 under Tommy Docherty, Hill quickly established himself as a fan favourite and a crucial component of an exciting, attacking team.

During his highly successful spell with the Red Devils, he made over one hundred league appearances and finished as the club's top goalscorer in both the 1975-76 and 1976-77 seasons, famously helping lead the side to FA Cup glory at Wembley Stadium in 1977.

The shirt can be framed if such an option is available on the website.
